i have heard the sound of summer in the rain
hi
it was one of those always eventful but non-eventful weeks. there is a lot of work to be done, and the stress is actually making me sleep more than i should. also, i've been sleeping on the couch more than on my bed.
other things
we went to the nethercutt museum on wednesday (classic car museum) and i had more success and fun this time around than the first time i went. had lunch with the kiddies afterwards. people ordered beers, hard liquor and sweet drinks in martini glasses mid day.
other things extended
trend research presentation by style sight. three "trends" divided up into "indie," "emo" and (i forgot the last one). slightly silly, but still very interesting.
yesterday
stuck around school to avoid all friday traffic. I really really really love the frank gehry south campus. there are details about that building that are seriously insanely beautiful. the shadows and use of light in the structure is breathtaking. it changes as the day begins and ends.
another thing yesterday
i had a dinner date with k. i really love him. admist his quirks and overwhelming affection. i also love his non-judgment. all people should have that quality.
ah!
i bought a cheap little sewing machine! im so excited about this. there is a lot of experimentation to be done.
i love saturday mornings
i wish time would stand still now.
today
K and i have a meeting with a seamstress and we're taking a trip to fashion district afterwards. busy busy day.

hi there:) sounds like you are having an adventurous days. are you working on a soft good project? i'm reading "a new brand world" after culture code and thought of you. I think you might like it. he has great stories and examples around brand. we should grab some coffee and breakfast sometime:) cheers, -w
hi wakako! things are definitely a little crazier with the second part of the term slowly wrapping up. I'm working on a chair with an apparel piece that can zip/unzip on and off the chair ("jacket on a chair idea" and also the "fitting like a glove" idea) it was inspired from hussein chalayan's table dress! I will check out 'a new brand world.' i've started on 'blue ocean strategy' (recommended by your visual bookshelf!) we should definitely grab coffee and breakie. those small increments of time i see you is nearly not as sufficient! hope all is well wakako!
