i was in india when rome was built

ok,
i am obsessed with the curvature of the back. i think i've posted a bunch of photos similar to this.

yesterday
we met with the seamstress who had great things to say, and smart inputs about our construction methods. headed down to fashion district and went crazy at michael levine. we had an indian dinner, and stopped by "show," a cool shop with cool things. when people say something is "so you" i am constantly debating whether i should feel complimented or frustrated from my own predictability.

self side note.
things are not black and white. its a massive, complicated, intricate web of gray intertwined

i have heard the sound of summer in the rain

hi
it was one of those always eventful but non-eventful weeks. there is a lot of work to be done, and the stress is actually making me sleep more than i should. also, i've been sleeping on the couch more than on my bed.

other things
we went to the nethercutt museum on wednesday (classic car museum) and i had more success and fun this time around than the first time i went. had lunch with the kiddies afterwards. people ordered beers, hard liquor and sweet drinks in martini glasses mid day.

other things extended
trend research presentation by style sight. three "trends" divided up into "indie," "emo" and (i forgot the last one). slightly silly, but still very interesting.

yesterday

stuck around school to avoid all friday traffic. I really really really love the frank gehry south campus. there are details about that building that are seriously insanely beautiful. the shadows and use of light in the structure is breathtaking. it changes as the day begins and ends.

another thing yesterday
i had a dinner date with k. i really love him. admist his quirks and overwhelming affection. i also love his non-judgment. all people should have that quality.

ah!
i bought a cheap little sewing machine! im so excited about this. there is a lot of experimentation to be done.

i love saturday mornings
i wish time would stand still now.

today
K and i have a meeting with a seamstress and we're taking a trip to fashion district afterwards. busy busy day.

don't worry, everything is going to be amazing

monday-friday
crazy week, because my continual lack of time management. i propose this week will be different. i will be different with the way i manage my hours.

friday
i came home early to get some work done. I attempted to take a small nap and woke up this morning. this is how tired i was. i cannot continue doing this

my local library
i found that local libraries carry so much more informative books than my school library. old old books with amazing images with better analysis. I think the best 23 bucks i've ever spent was inside the gift shop at the library this week. i bought 8 amazing books. I'm slightly flabbergasted that people are donating this stuff.

my product
continuing on with exploration and nervous about the manufacturing.

today
coffee, listening to npr, cleaning my disastrous work space, considering step class, and working working working. and working

self notes
i find myself brimming with negativity sometimes. i don't want to be that person. i will change.

also,
sometimes, competition at my school is so extreme (in all regards- networking, designing, etc.) i feel continually cautious about this trap. it can really mess you up when you're "goaling" for the win as opposed to what is really important. an incessant mantra of 'just be you' clutters my hours. i was surprised to find that there is an exact correlation to me, as a human being, and the work that i do. (sounds hokey, i know). the secret, it seems, to any success, is to be the best you (the best human being you could be). and everything follows route. sounds easy.
