perfect weather to fly

the day before the last day of the year
just came back from a one night trip from san diego and its bordering cities which included lakes and a sea. it was so good. we stopped at the ghost town of bombay beach- next to the salton sea- and it was quite possibly the most gorgeous and saddest place i've ever been.

other things
i've discovered tumblr and its so great. there's so many applications that i'm trying to upkeep that i feel like i'm neglecting this blog. i must find a better system to organize. i will keep this as a personal blog. tumblr as a public space for all the images, websites, and words i run across everyday, and  facebook for facebook. geez.

i will follow you. hew me to your beauty

monday
i am so content in the mornings. i like the quiet, the rain, and the dim lights.

other things
i've been spending a large amount of time with friends i haven't seen in the past few months and i feel so happy being in their company. if anything, ac has taught me the appreciation of being able to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee with a good friend.

yesterday
i was hung over and lounged my way to the fairfax flea market. i love the collection of old cameras and weird antique trinkets. the boxes full of old vintage family photos make me sad, but i love them all the same.

also
apparently, i use the phrase "i love" all too loosely. and i agree, but i can't help myself.

i am letting this room and everything in it stand for my ideas about love and its difficulties

today
woke up, baked cookies, listened to christmas music, read twilight, and watched the rain make small puddles around the crevices in my backyard. i can't believe i'm getting to do things like this.

jeannie
i haven't forgotten about you and i'm in the mist of getting a package all tidied up for you!

i will arise now, and go about the city in the streets, and in the broad ways i will seek... whom my soul loveth

monday
running errands in the rain. there was something comforting about this.

the days last breath in our sails

Sunday Night
ah, i am back and surprisingly alive. i saw friends, had drinks, slept, ate, watched a movie (slumdog millionaire-great), and i feel so much better for having done normal life activities. these past two weeks will forever be engrained in my memory for having caused me such emotional distress. but great things (and some bad things) came out of it and i am grateful for it all. tomorrow, my brother comes- can't wait.

some profound incandescence of things, surpassing my understanding

(photographer: Todd Hido and Homes at Night Series)

friday
i unknowingly shut off my alarm at 12am. and i subsequently rushed over to school around 3:30am when i woke up from my nap. it is almost six. cold outside and overly toasty in the computer lab. the wide screen apple displays are treasures and i must invest in one of these. tired. so very tired. sunrise soon- debating its viewing worth today.

also,
i really love Todd Hido's photo series. i think its eerily beautiful. im glad to see that images like this still inspire me right now in my desperate, exhausted and panicked state.
