it was
a very hard week

struggling to get everything done

struggling to get everything done

wednesday
went to zoo with viscom class to draw. drawing pacing animals is hard. saw birds, monkeys, apes, giraffes and elephants with a handful of classmates. had lunch at the alcove with B, K, and J. i had a vegan wrap and we all shared two cakes. After, i took a two hour nap at K's and headed to C's class. always inspirational. also, i need to pick J's brain. she is packed full of good talent and information. she is also incredibly honest and i like that.

thursday
woke up early to check out dynamic illustration midterm and run errands. bought various papers at paper source and browsed through books at Cliff's books for some ideas.  bought a nicely bounded book (hope to re-use and re-bound for later), and a nice cursive book. i use a calligraphy pen often and need to brush up on my script. Went to south campus to work on solidworks. my god, every second of using this software is painful for me. later on, had thai dinner with A.

friday
what a long long long long day. i woke up at 5:30 am to pick up K, M, T, and B by 7:00 in pasadena. We were to meet at the Mojave desert at 9:00 am for our materials class. nice drive, played word games and 20 questions. Mojave is desolate, but lovely. i think a nice place for sketching. had a tour through the mojave airport looking at a variety of incredible aircrafts. Had lunch at NASA, and a three hour long tour through the facilities. tiresome yet at times, interesting. i enjoyed their "flight loads laboratory" who had a nasa-man explain the lab in his bobby kennedy accent (which i thought was attractive). headed home around 4, had a long conversation with M (for the first time) during the drive.  all in all, worthwhile.

also
the heads graphics department instructor came on the tour with us and brought his entire family. i've never seen a family so blond, so chic, so beautiful in real life. i kept staring. german. i've never encountered so many amazing germans till i entered art center. they are an amazing kind.
